Server rack price in Malaysia: what affects the cost
There is no single server rack price in Malaysia. The price depends on the rack height (12U to 42U), width and depth, the steel and door specification, the accessories you add, the quantity and where it is delivered. XG Labs Technology quotes every rack in writing and does not publish a price list.
10 factors that set the price of a server rack

| Rack height (U) | A 42U floor-standing cabinet uses far more steel than a 12U wall-mount cabinet. Height is the biggest single factor. |
| Width and depth | 600 × 1000 mm costs more than 600 × 800 mm, and 800 mm wide cabinets more again. Choose the depth your equipment needs: 1000 mm for servers, 800 mm for network-only. |
| Steel and build | Panel and rail thickness, load rating, welded or knock-down frame, and the finish. Our listed 42U cabinets use 1.0 mm panels and 1.8 mm rails, finished black RAL 9004. |
| Doors, locks and panels | Perforated mesh, glass or solid doors, split rear doors, side-panel locks and cable-entry plates all change the price. |
| Accessories | Rack PDUs, shelves, cooling fans, cable managers, blanking panels, patch panels and castors or levelling feet are usually priced separately. |
| Power and UPS | A rack-mount UPS and its batteries can cost as much as the cabinet. Sizing it to the real load avoids paying for capacity you won't use. |
| Factory-direct or branded | Factory-direct XG racks and branded racks such as APC NetShelter or Vertiv are priced differently. We can quote both so you can compare. |
| Quantity | Projects with several racks, or racks bought with servers and network hardware, are quoted as one order. |
| Delivery location | Delivery within the Klang Valley, to other states, or to East Malaysia is quoted to the site. Racks ship flat-packed, so lift and door access matter. |
| Lead time | XG racks are factory-direct, about 6–8 weeks from deposit. Lead times for other items are confirmed on the quotation. |

- List the equipment you plan to mount, with the U height and depth of each item if you have them.

- 42U server rack: 600 × 1000 mm for servers, 600 × 800 mm for network equipment, 2055 mm tall.
- Small and wall-mount racks: 12U (600 × 450 mm) and 18U (600 × 600 mm) for offices and branches.
- Open-frame racks: 2-post and 4-post frames for secure rooms, quoted on request.
Buying for a hybrid or cloud setup?
If part of your workload runs in Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure or AWS, the on-site rack may only need the firewall, switches and backup storage. Pricing the smaller rack that matches what stays on premises is often the easiest saving.

How much is a server rack in Malaysia?
It depends on the size, depth, door and steel specification, accessories, quantity and delivery location. XG Labs Technology does not publish a price list. Send the rack size or your equipment list and we reply with a written quotation.
Why don't you publish server rack prices?
Two racks with the same U height can differ a lot in depth, steel, doors and included accessories, and delivery varies by site. A written quote for your exact configuration is more useful than a price list that rarely matches what you buy.
Is a 42U server rack price very different from a 12U?
Yes. A 42U floor-standing cabinet is a much larger steel structure than a 12U wall-mount cabinet and usually carries more accessories. Ask for both if you are unsure which size you need.
Are PDUs and fans included in the rack price?
Not on our listed cabinets. Our 42U cabinets include 3 fixed shelves, screws and cage nuts; fans and PDUs are optional extras, quoted separately.
Can I get a quote for a branded rack such as APC NetShelter?
Yes. We can quote APC NetShelter and Vertiv racks alongside a factory-direct XG rack, so you can compare specification and price on one page.
Does the price include installation?
No. We supply the rack and accessories; assembly, mounting and cabling are handled by your own team or contractor. The free server room site check helps us quote the right hardware first time.
